Gromee, real name is Andrzej Gromala, is a talented DJ and a music producer, originally from Cracow, Poland. His adventure with music began with an unusual accident. At the age of five, his curiosity led him to search inside a speaker for the ‘real’ people singing to him from within… while it was plugged in to the power. Fortunately for him, this adventure ended happily and only served to kick start Gromee’s interest in music.
Passion for radio is another thing that has always accompanied his life. In 1995, together with his friends, he set up two radio stations in Cracow called 97,7 Bleu FM and Radio Region. The latter station was later transformed into RMF MAXXX – currently one of the most popular Polish FM radio stations (CHR format). Gromee is also a CD collector; his collection is filled with special editions of albums with remixes spanning decades in time.
Gromee’s unique sound is based on the synergy between analogue instruments and electronic beats, together with deep and original sounds of live instruments paired with modern, computer-based rhythms. His music story begun in 2010 with the single ‘So Let Me Go’ and continued in 2012, when he cooperated with American rapper Tommy Gunn and Ali Tennant, a British singer, songwriter, vocal producer and vocal mentor known from the X-Factor. Their first single, ‘You Make Me Say’ sampled ATC’s ‘Around the World (La La La La La)’. In 2013 Gromee started gaining larger popularity on the Polish music market which culminated in his 2014 single ‘Follow You’ conquering the Polish music charts, reaching 11th position on the Airplay Chart and earning a Gold record award.
‘Fearless’, his newest single together with May Britt Scheffer, a Swedish gospel vocalist is due to premiere worldwide on July 1st – showing a new and fresh sound from the producer, written by the team behind some of Armin Van Buuren and Richard Durand’s biggest records.
Gromee regularly gives live concerts in Poland and abroad. He has performed at numerous music festivals, sharing the stage with artists such as Steve Aoki, Deorro, Eric Clapton, Jessi Ware and Sting. In April 2016 Gromee was the support act for Mariah Carey’s first ever Polish concert.
